Guassa Community Lodge is nestled between the magnificent mountain scenery and Afroalpine meadow of the Guassa plateau, some 260km from the capital Addis Ababa. The Lodge was built using local materials in traditional style, albeit on a larger scale.

Owned by the Guassa Community, the Lodge consists of four twin bedded rooms on the upper floor, and 1 twin bedded and 1 single room on the ground floor. There is a separate sitting room, dining room and kitchen area, as well as an education and information center. An annex contains a bathroom block with a hot shower and toilets.

There are also designated camping grounds around the lodge area where guests can pitch their own tents or, in the future, rent one from the Community Tourism Association. In bad weather you can still enjoy the comforts of a lit fireplace and cooking inside.

Currently, guests must bring their own food for self-catering, although basic supplies and meals should be available in the future.
